Our former LCGS Pastor and NE Minnesota Synod Bishop Roger Munson has passed away.  His funeral service will be here at Good Shepherd on January 15th. We are so grateful for his ministry and legacy in the area and we pray for comfort for Roger and Helen’s loved ones.

Thank you  all who brought food for CHUM at the cross in the entry of the main doors!! it is a spot to leave food anytime you have a chance! In addition to any food donations, we would like to gather gently used warm jackets, boots, hats, gloves, socks, etc that can be used at Chum and Damiano, the past few weeks of cold has impacted their supply of these items.
AND empty egg cartons that are needed to repack donated eggs as they often come in very large flats and need to be repacked.
Any of the items above could be placed in the cross at entry. THANK YOU!!

We also have 2 containers of Snacks for Schools  that are in need of refills! if you have a chance to pick up healthy individual packed snack boxes, bring them to the office

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!

Nine Paths, One Spirit: How Our Enneagram Types Mirror Nine World

Religions & Map a New Spiritual Age

Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2026

Time: 6:30-8:30 pm CST (arrive by 6:15pm)

Location: Gathering Space at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd (over Zoom)

Presenter: Scott McRae, Enneagram Type 9 (he/him)

The growing interest in the Enneagram parallels what many see to be a new, emerging form of spirituality. Through a mix of presentation, reflection, and both large and small group discussions, this interactive Zoom class invites us to explore how ancient wisdom and emerging spirituality can guide us to meet today’s personal and collective challenges with minds, hearts, and bodies rooted in love.

Join Enneagram Enthusiasts Eric Kaiser and Pastor Lisa Buchanan as we watch this presentation over Zoom with snacks and a short discussion to follow. Please let Eric or Lisa know if you can make it!

Call Committee Update:

We are excited to share that our Ministry Site Profile is being submitted! The “MSP” acts as our Synod notification of an open call to prospective Pastoral Candidates. It is a

summary of the last 5 years of input from our congregation, including the Mission Task Force report, the Transition Team summary and it reflects recent support and action by the congregation as we have navigated our transition of leadership.

Over the next few weeks we will begin the process of receiving names and interviewing candidates. Our practice interview is scheduled for the first week of January.

Please continue to keep the committee members and potential candidates in your

prayers as we do this oh so important work.

Hola!! Our Synod Honduras Leadership Team  is scheduling a Honduras Fiesta to celebrate 15 Years of Companion Synod accompaniment with the Lutheran Church in Honduras. It will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in west Duluth on January 17 from 12-3.

The Fiesta will feature past and future partnership with our brothers and sisters in            Honduras. A meal of tacos, beans and rice, dessert and horchata will be served by “Oasis del Norte.” The cost will be $20 for adults, $10 for children 6-12, and under 6 free.

We expect that there will be significant interest in this event at LCGS. A full announcement of the Fiesta will go out to Synod and Lake Superior Conference congregations. We would like it to be possible for folks to get tickets in advance at some congregations in Duluth.
