The Men’s Bible Study is asking for monetary $ donations for the homeless bags in the entry way area. They are running low. Donations can be dropped off at the office or in a marked envelope in the offering plate.

Wednesday Walking Group Wednesdays through Summer!

Join Pastor Lisa this Wednesdays at 9am in the parking lot outside of the office to begin with a mile-loop through the Lakeside neighborhood. After coming back to the LCGS parking lot, participants can decide if they want to take another mile loop. Bring kids in the stroller and well-behaved dogs on a leash. This will be a weekly event through the summer. All are welcome!

Save the date…. Our Blessing of the Backpacks worship will be September 7th *and* we will be collecting and packing Snacks for Schools for the 4th year in a row!

Fruit Snacks, Granola Bars, etc… will go out to local schools for teachers and staff to use as needed.

Sometimes, that looks like kids arriving at school hungry, so a school nurse grabs a snack from our bin.

Sometimes, that looks like a child who can’t afford “birthday treats” for the whole class, so a teacher grabs cookies from our bin.

Sometimes, that looks like a kid who simply forgot a snack that day, but this way a

teacher doesn’t need to give up their own snack or buy their own supplies. Always, that looks like our church showing up to feed, love, and support kids, teachers, and staff - right where they are - in a regular school day.

Please pick up what you can, bring it to church on or before September 7. Our goal is that our Blessing of the Backpacks Sunday is a blessing to ALL kids - not just the ones who are here.

But, we need everyone’s help - everybody, everybody, everybody! - to do that well.

Table Top Games

If you like to play board games or cards, please join us on August 20 for  Table Top Games. 

We will meet monthly on the third Wednesday at 12:30 in the gathering space. This is open to all ages. Bring your favorite game, cards, beverage and a friend.

Join us weekly on Mondays in the Fellowship Hall from 9am-1:00pm to quilt or create your own works in the company of friends. It is a great space to spread your things. If you don't know how to quilt, we would love to show you

“Laundry Love” is a national organization who’s soul mission is to help low and no income families wash clothes.  Duluth is the 10th chapter in Minnesota, facilitated by CHUM’s “Stepping Up Program.” We serve 20-30 families weekly. In collaboration with Lakeside churches and interested businesses or groups, we hope to build community through shared volunteers and fund raising efforts to facilitate the free laundry days.
