Call committee update.
Happy Easter!
What a great week to announce that we have a candidate of choice! And that Pastor has said “yes” to this role.
What does that mean? It means that we have stopped interviewing because we found the person we think is our next Pastor. It also means that this person has stopped looking at other churches and feels called here. Yee haw!
What’s next?
The Call Committee and the Church Council met on Monday to look at the details and the timeline. The council will continue the process with the candidate.
We hope to soon announce the candidates name and upcoming dates for a congregational meet and greet. This would be followed by a date for a congregational vote.
While we can’t quite yet reveal the name, we wanted to share our excitement with all of you. Please keep the candidate, their family, as well as the candidate’s current church in your prayers as they enter into their own time of transition and discernment.
We are getting close! Keep an eye out for more updates soon!

Call committee update.
The Call Committee has been receiving names of Pastors from the synod office who are open to a call to LCGS! The interviews have begun and will continue for the next several weeks. Please pray for the committee for God's guidance AND for the person who will become our next Pastor!! They may have to make some tough decisions and we pray that the Holy Spirit is with them!

Call committee update.
As the Call Committee works with the NEMN Synod office to get the word out to potential candidates, we thank you for your support and prayers.
I was honored yesterday to attend Bishop Roger Munson’s memorial service. It was a wonderful service filled with so many Pastors that credited him for their call to ministry. Former Bishop Tom Aitken shared a wonderful story of how Bishop Roger encouraged him to explore a call in the synod. Bishop Tom, accepted that call which lasted 17 years and which was pivotal on his own path as Pastor and Bishop in the NEMN synod.
Stay warm everyone. -Joel Abenth

Call Committee Update:
We are excited to share that our Ministry Site Profile is being submitted! The “MSP” acts as our Synod notification of an open call to prospective Pastoral Candidates. It is a
summary of the last 5 years of input from our congregation, including the Mission Task Force report, the Transition Team summary and it reflects recent support and action by the congregation as we have navigated our transition of leadership.
Over the next few weeks we will begin the process of receiving names and interviewing candidates. Our practice interview is scheduled for the first week of January.
Please continue to keep the committee members and potential candidates in your
prayers as we do this oh so important work.
We continue to move forward in the transition process and a big step has been made in Vision Council’s selection of the Call Committee: Nan Asperheim, Matthew Webb, Kelsey Sprowell, Joel Abenth, Frank Wanner, and Jodi Stacken. The Call Committee members agreed to the work and time commitment involved in selecting a new settled pastor. We will be commissioning the Call Committee at the September 14th worship service. The members will have their first meeting with Synod Liaison for Mobility, Susan Williams the first week in September to learn more about the call process and their responsibilities. Vision Council set a timeline to hopefully have a settled pastor in place by late spring/early summer!
